He had listened to the advice of good friends around who asked him not to make any drastic changes or make any big decisions until he had found emotional stability once more. He took his time and retreated into a safe and secure zone where he would not be bothered and where no demands would be forced upon him. We all need time to heal after loss or trauma and the Cups Figure was right not to rush this process. The Cups Figure grieved and mourned for all that he had lost but time helped and he found a new type of peace and acceptance in the Six. So we waited and stood by knowing that in time he would come round and be prepared to take the help and comfort that was being offered to him. We were concerned that so deep was his level of pain, he might try to do something stupid, try to hurt himself or even someone else for there was terrible anger there too. He didn’t want to be comforted, he didn’t want help, he was beyond that. The Cups Figure, stood heartbroken and told us to go away and leave him alone.

The distress was intense and we all stood around not knowing what to do and how to help. Everything had blown up in the Cup’s face and all his dreams and plans lay smashed on the floor.
We were all shocked, upset and reeling in disbelief. So we left him and went on our way but it wasn’t long before word travelled of the incident of the Five. He also looked like he might have been drinking in an attempt to drown his sorrows. He really wanted to be left alone to wallow in whatever it was that was upsetting him. We had tried to speak to him, to draw him out of himself but he just wasn’t interested. We had indeed being surprised to see the normally happy and jolly Cups Figure in such an apathetic and down-hearted manner. There may even have been anger and bitterness in there too. Not that he would tell us much because I think he was even finding it hard to deal and get his head around. There was no getting away from the fact that there was terrible disillusionment and disappointment. The first signs of trouble set in, in The Four when we happened upon the Cups Figure sitting under a tree looking very disgruntled and fed up. Yes indeed, it was all too good to be true. Life was wonderful and nothing or no one could possibly shake the solidity of what the Cups Figure had being so lucky to find. Those Rose Tinted Glasses we spoke of before, were well and truly glued on back in those days. Finding love and happiness that early on in the journey was probably hoping for too much. In hindsight now, I suppose it was all too good to be true.
However, there were also those who were jealous and possibly some who had hidden agendas. Everyone was happy for him and toasted his joy and love. He had thought he had found what he was looking for, thought that his wishes had been answered and emotional needs fulfilled. His future seemed rosy indeed and the Cups ‘all loved’ up couldn’t wait to move on to the next stage and make a more definite commitment. While the other Suits were just getting the hang of things and planning for their future, the Cups Figure had already fallen in love and couldn’t wait to let the world know it. He had set off on his journey in search of love, real love and appeared to find it very quickly in the Two when he met the partner of his dreams. The Cups Figure had got off to a wonderful start in the Ace when he was overflowing with positive emotions and the desire to share his love. In the Six, he took a nostalgic trip down memory lane reminiscing about his childhood, taking comfort from the wholesomeness and innocence of his youth. In the Six, he took the time to find emotional stability with those who loved and cared for him.
